Berkshire Nat'l Fish Hatchery

Many National Fish Hatcheries managed by the Fish and Wildlife service have public fishing access. The list provided here will get you started on a fishing adventure. A fishing license is often needed but in most states can be purchased on line in advance. State’s fishing rules and regulations apply on these federal facilities so take a look at those before venturing out.

"Northeast" (including Mid-Atlantic) has a few locations, but the closest to LTC is:

Berkshire National Fish Hatchery
240 Hatchery Rd
New Marborough, MA  01230
(413) 528-9761

The Berkshire National Fish Hatchery encourages young anglers to use their derby pond anytime during office hours by obtaining a permit from the hatchery office. The derby pond is open year round (weather permitting). For questions about fishing and fishing derbies, contact hatchery staff.
