Limestone Trout Club is an affordable club with the best fly-fishing for trout in the northeast. You have access to 94 pristine acres with three deep limestone quarries and three shallow ponds. There are plenty of trout and you may just catch the trout of a lifetime. Limited to 125 members there are less than six anglers a day on average. Where else can you fish in a beautiful setting with big fish and friendly members?

WHO WE ARE

We are located in Canaan, CT and organized as a stock holders corporation with tax exemption status under a 501(c)(7) designation, Social Club. The club is run by a Board of Directors voted in by stockholder members.  Committees made up from the membership are responsible for fisheries and buildings and grounds. Rules, policies, and budgets are developed that dictate priorities on spending and other issues.  The board encourages participation from all members. We have an on-site property manager who makes sure everything is working in addition to providing helpful tips on how to catch the big one.

Several types of memberships are available.

  • Regular, Full Stockholder
  • Senior Stockholder (75 years or older)
  • Junior (35 years or younger – non-stockholder)
  • Family – Related to a Stockholder Member(non-stockholder)
  • Trial (non-stockholder, valid for current season only. pro-rated fee based on sign up month.)

A Stockholder member purchases shares in the corporation and is a full voting member at our annual stockholders meeting. Stock can be redeemed, transferred, or donated upon termination of membership.  There are many generations of members that have had long term commitments with our club.

  • Membership includes unlimited fishing or visits for all immediate family members.
  • Three fishing guests per day allotment.  Any single, non-family guest may fish up to three visits a year.
  • A maximum of 125 members are allowed, per the by-laws.
  • There are no majority shareholders; all shareholders have equal voting rights.
