Save The Fish - Minimize Time Out Of Water

It is important to properly handle fish you plan to release. This is particularly important as water and air temperatures rise to near lethal levels. You can tilt the odds of survival to the fish by minimizing the time the fish spends out of the water. Things you can do:

  • Don't take the fish out of the water - keep it in your net, let it calm down before removing the (barbless) hook.
  • If you want a picture take it in the net for a new perspective.
  • If you want a grip and grin, get the camera ready, lift, snap, return.
  • Guide the fish to deep water.

Annual Stockholder Meeting - Sat Oct 5th

The annual LTC Stockholder meeting will take place on club grounds on Sat October 5th.  See our Calendar page.  All members, family, friends and guests are invited to join together to talk trout, fishing, and the state of affairs at the club.  Make your voice be heard by the club board members.

Member Mark Boardman will prepare a special meal for all those attending.  This year, Mark has access to a LARGE pan and will be preparing a grand paella (see photo).

Come enjoy the fall day and participate. Invitations will be coming shortly.

Limestone Blog Topics

While not a blog in the traditional sense of allowing for direct user entry in conversations, it is a series of website pages where anglers can gain insights into fishing at Limestone.  If you wish to contribute to this,  feedback is welcome and will be included.  Let's make everyone's experience at Limestone fruitful and share your insights.

    Celebrating Our 62nd Year

Limestone Trout Club offers fly-fishing in a scenic 94-acre parcel located in the Town of North Canaan, Connecticut. It is a private, members only club - not open to the general public.

Within the reclaimed Limestone quarries is a well-groomed property suited for the needs of fly fishers’ varied abilities. Stillwater fishing is plenty challenging!

The club features six unique ponds, beautiful landscape, camaraderie of its membership, and full time, on-site management. Non-fishing family and invited visitors will find a comfortable clubhouse where you read a book or take a walk outside on trails that circumvent the ponds.

For more information about joining, see our Membership page and check out the This is Limestone page.

Sorry, but the ponds are not for swimming.  Pet friendly, but please refrain from allowing pets in the ponds.
